Hope

It's probably not news to anyone that Obama has already "taken care of" the Mexico City Policy, a policy that would keep American taxpayers from funding abortion overseas. (WTF?!) Apparently, Mr. President thinks that, in this time of economic crisis, we should be giving all our money away to foreign countries so they can kill their own children. Brilliant plan to get us out of this recession, huh?

Of course, us pro-lifers are OBSESSED with getting it reinstated.

I've always loved the Susan B. Anthony list and everything they do (and they do A LOT). So it's no wonder that they are all over this MCP.
The hope for today:

Wiggling Away

Obama vs. the Vatican: Fight to the Death (or for the death...of the unborn)

Prison rules apply.

In one of his first acts as President, Obama has done something Martin Luther would gravely warn against: tick off the Pope.

"I don't think President Obama is looking for a fight but I think he's certainly going to get one as he wiggles away from issues that are very important to the church," said the Very Rev. David O'Connell, president of the Catholic University of America. {source}

Does this statement make anyone else picture our wonderful new president somewhat like the snake in the Garden of Eden....wiggling away...?

"I'm sure for many Catholics who supported Obama because they believed in his words to do everything he could to reduce abortions, this comes as a disappointment, and even a betrayal to some," he said

Thanks, FoxNews, also for this epic juxtaposition:

Fun with Excommunication!

It looks like the word "excommunication" is no longer a fav of the Vatican.

According to the Catholic News Service, Benny is lifting excommunications off a number of bishops. Apparently, these are the bishops that went rogue by refusing to adhere to Vatican II. And it seems like they still have a beef with Il Papa.

Another fun bit of excommunication-ness....

Vice President Joe Biden is also not excommunicated. Well at least not officially....yet.

But since our resident White House Catholic's own bishop refuses to give him communion, he sort of is excommunicated.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Plus sides of excommunication of Joe Biden:

1. This bishop is showing how much Church leaders are fed up with dissent in the pews.
2. It is irksome to see someone in such a spotlight misrepresent the Catholic faith so much.
3. He makes us look like a bunch of hypocrites.
4. The media (the liberals) is going to be soooo hyped up over this.
So this quasi-excommunication thing might actually work for us.

Bad sides:
1. Should people who voted for Biden be withheld communion, also?
2. The media (the liberals) is going to be soooo hyped up over this.

But overall, it is more important to protect the doctrines of the Church than to cater to the political and ideological whims of the masses.

And of course, our lovely heretics always have a chance to recant. :]
